IVF and Donor Egg IVF Success Rates

Please take a few moments to review our IVF and Donor Egg IVF success rates. IVF success rates vary according to many factors including female age, cause(s) of infertility, previous treatments, genetics, presence of male factor, and others.

Donor Egg IVF success rates are typically high because the eggs are retrieved from a young female. If the eggs of a healthy, fertile, 22 year old donor are placed in a 46 year old recipient, the success rates will equal the 22 year old age group (if no other contributing factors are present). Donor egg is often the only hope of pregnancy for women who have experienced ovarian failure.

Success rates also vary by clinic. Our donor egg program is one of the largest in the southwest and we have extensive experience and excellent success rates. The CDC publishes IVF success rates data by fertility clinic but these data are typically two years old. The latest success rates data available for the Presbyterian-Harris ART Program (and all other programs in the United States) from the Centers for Disease Control are for the year 2003. Success Rates Explained

IVF success rates must be reported to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) in accordance with the "Fertility Clinic Success Rate and Certification Act of 1992". IVF success (delivery rates) for DFW Fertility Associates Dallas Tx fertility clinic for 2006 and onwards will be reported based on the physician Practice (individual or group practices) as is recommended by the Society for Assisted Reproduction (SART).

The IVF success rates for DFW Fertility Associates, Dallas, Texas prior to 2006 were reported to the CDC within the Presbyterian-Harris Methodist Hospital ARTS Program, which includes several other IVF programs. The last time the Presbyterian-Harris ARTS Program reported their data to the CDC was for the year 2005.  From 2006 and onward, all physician clinics (programs) are going to report their data by clinic Practice.  Some physician offices have chosen not to report their data to the CDC.

DFW Fertility Associates IVF success rate data will be reported to both SART, and the CDC from 2006 and onwards.  Because delivery data is reported, 2006 statistics can’t be calculated until all patients from 2006 that conceived with IVF have delivered. By the time all delivery data is gathered, reported and analyzed, the 2006 data becomes available sometime during 2008.

IVF success rates are influenced by many factors making it difficult to compare individual clinics.  For example, if a clinic has a higher percentage of younger women undergoing IVF their IVF success rates will likely be higher. We treat a wide variety of women and all age groups are represented. Even so, our cumulative rates greatly exceed the national average.
